Policies and Procedures

Thank you for choosing to work with Made for Math. We provide online learning experiences through live online led math coaching sessions. Please read through our general guidelines and policies for working online with us.
As math specialists, we have your child’s best interest in mind as we created these policies. Please trust the process and support us in carrying out these policies so we can help your child make the most progress while working with us.
Working with a Math Specialist
Learning online is unique, enjoyable, and effective for all involved when we understand expectations. By scheduling a session with one of our math specialists, you are adhering to our guidelines below:
Live math sessions will start promptly at your scheduled time. If you are more than 15 minutes late, your session will be canceled and no make-up session will be provided.
If during our online session, you have difficulty accessing the software please email and/or call your math specialist. Their contact details are provided in the confirmation email.
If technical difficulties arise, our specialist will email and/or call you to reschedule a time to meet at no additional cost to you.
Sessions will also end on time regardless of what time you show up for the session.
MFM Informal Assessment
We give all students an informal assessment when they first start working with us. Parents will be given an informal report of your students starting point.
Length of Assessment
The informal assessment will take a minimum of two separate sessions to complete with your child’s assigned specialist.
All materials for lessons will be mailed after the informal assessment. The materials cost was covered in our one-time setup fee. Lost materials will not be replaced. I can request a new set for an additional fee of $300.00.
Students should participate in lessons while seated at a table or desk in a quiet space. Students should have their materials ready for the lesson. Students should be prepared for online work by having the following:
- Hard-wired mouse
- High-speed internet (preferably direct wired)
- Chrome web browser is preferred
Students cannot use a Chromebook, iPhone, iPad, or smart device for lessons at MFM. The only approved devices are desktop computers and laptops.
If a student fails to show up for a lesson without a 24 hr. advanced notification, the lesson will not be refundable or available for rescheduling.
If rescheduling needs to happen, let your math specialist know 24 hours in advance. Please respond to the specialists efforts to reschedule within 48 hours. Failure to do so will cause forfeit of that lesson.
If you cancel a session, you may reschedule the session up to two times. If a student cancels more than 3 times in a 30-day period, a phone call will be made to the parent, and services will be terminated.
Please contact us about rescheduling sessions due to any sort of conflicting after-school activity.
Payment is due before scheduling sessions. No refunds are available unless sessions have been terminated. All refunds within 30 days of purchase will be refunded back to your debit/credit card. Any refund after 30 days of initial purchase will be sent to you via check.
MFM is a tuition-based service, meaning that the cost of these lessons have been averaged over the months in one semester. You can stop at the end of the billing cycle. Unused lessons in the prior month will not be refunded.
Missed payments will stop services until payment is made. Notification via email/text will be made if this happens. You will have one week to rectify payment. Failure to do so could cause forfeit of my spot.
Student Schedule Change Fee
If you need to change our regularly scheduled time with our math specialist, a $50 change fee will be incurred. *This does not apply to rescheduling due to illness, piano recitals, etc. Only an ongoing schedule change.
If you need to reschedule, you will need let your math specialist know 24 hours in advance. You will need to respond to the specialists efforts to reschedule within 48 hours. Failure to do so will cause forfeit of that lesson. If lessons are rescheduled more than 2 times in a month, an email will be sent to reconsider working with us as this may not be the right fit. Families can not reschedule more than 3 times in one month. If lessons are rescheduled 3 times or more in a month, a MFM manager will be contacting you to terminate services. A refund will be given for unused lessons within the same month and payments terminated.
Credit Card/Debit Card Fees
You will automatically be charged a 3% fee if you elect to use a credit or debit card for our MFM tuition. ACH/eCheck will be free of any fees.
No Bill of Insurance
Insurance does not cover these services.
No Homework Help
MFM is an intervention service and will be filling gaps in your child’s understanding, not helping them navigate current math classes. We will strive to align our work with school work when possible.
No Homework Creation
MFM is an intervention service and will be using repetition during sessions to aid memory.
MFM will not be providing grades to report to schools or to various states for homeschooled students.
No Teacher Liaison/Communication
Math specialists will not be communicating with your child’s teacher or teaching them in the MFM’s methods. If communication needs to happen, the parent is in charge of initiating contact with the teacher.
Math Specialist/Parent Communication
In order to make learning and communication smooth with your specialist, please respond to email/text/phone calls from MFM within 24 – 48 hours.
Each lesson between your child and your child’s specialist is recorded.
Use of Recordings
MFM does use parts/pieces of lessons for marketing and training purposes. MFM will always notify you before using video for marketing purposes.
We love to feature our students on our social media accounts and websites. By participating in our services, you agree to your child’s photo or video being used for promotional/educational use. We will notify parents before we use any media.
